When you replace a pressure gauge and you turn your pump back on and only hear air what did you do wrong? We have a deep well water pump. Does it still need to be primed? How do you prime it?
Water is slowly dripping when faucet is turned on. Holding tank is heavier so may have some water.
When the pressure gauge broke it may have sprayed water on the pressure switch could this have caused this problem? Could it now be sticking? How can we fix this? Does the pressure switch need to be replaced too?
What led up to our replacing the pressure gauge is that the faucet was running slow for a week or so and then, all of a sudden, we could hear a sound like there was a leak and the pump started running every 15-20 minutes. When checking the well house we saw that the pressure gauge was spraying water out of it. The pump and everything worked fine. So what should we do?Thanks!
Bleed the tank and should work fine

Don't forget you have to prime the pump to start pulling up the water and when the tank starts filling bleed off the air. Even a self priming pump will need to be primed if a deep well.
